Rusty M4 half track

Yep lots of funky green stuff growing on the HT. I'll be testing out some products from AK Interactive as well as texturing products from Vellejo. Should be fun trying to recreate all that green stuff....thanks Ken.

I received a nice package from Iain Hamilton of AK Interactive USA this morning, that put a big ;D smile on my face. Some new stuff to play with, light and dark slimy green and some textured paints.
After an hour of experimenting here is what I came up with.

I spent the hour painting - chipping - and weathering. I would normally do more rust weathering but just couldn't wait to get to the slimy green. This look close to the reference pic I posted above. Needs a bit more work til I get the hang of it.
The other half of the turret will be used to do the video using these products.

ROB,

Dude ! That Slimy Green is Money ! That looks Awesome. That turret would look cool sitting Bulgaria on th ground as a emplacement. Siting in a pine forrest ? Bulgaria had some Panzers given to them to place on th Turkish border. A lot ended up as emplacements.

just my $.02 (usd)

AK is on th right track !! Oh ... and My wallet cries in anticipation of AMPS !!

Dude the possibilities for this type of stuff is endless with the right products. I have quite a few ref pics with rust buckets covered in the greenstuff. I'm one happy camper now ;D ;D
Next up is to do a video using this stuff....maybe tonight if I feel like it.

Thanks Scott. This weathering is getting to be Too much fun...now I don't feel like building, and just paint.

its much like a combination of mold and moss of some sort, since it was rusted by nature...

well looking forward for this build!!

Thanks Eastrock. I'm looking forward to painting the HT...just have to get it built first ;D

That green stuff would look cool on a stone wall ,you know ,where water has been running down the wall ! ,I think it would be great for that effect ;D

Chris.

Loving this build!!! Just soaking it all in for a junk yard dio I am thinking about. Maybe I can "weed out" some of my parts boxes. (yes pun intended)

Looking REALLY GOOD!!!

The stuff has lots of potential. I think one of the main functions of the slime was meant for buildings , fences etc. The junk yard idea sounds great, this green stuff will come in handy for sure. I will be using on a future project involving a tank, river bank or stream....you get the picture ;)
Damn this stuff would have been perfect for my PzIII that's on my home page...oh well, guess I'll have to do another.

This would look awesome on Stone work. Fountains !! I have a project coming up that revolves around a fountain !

I wonder how this would look over Metallics. Showing the weathering on "Bronze " statues etc ? Road side Shrines ?

ERIK

Some very good ideas Erik. I've been looking around for ref stuff in preperation of painting the 53 Ford and this HT.

Yeah i gotta say again Rob that that slime is the biz..............must invest in some for the stash at some point..

`Boots`

Hey Boots, yep it's worth it buddy. I tried different ways to get these results, but it wasn't realistic enough. This stuff is a breeze to work with. I ordered some of the AK fuel stains and winter grime, should have them by tomorrow evening.
Will be trying to improve my weathering skills on this and the 53 Ford.

You`ll have to let me know how to source these when you get a chance mate..........i`ll add them to my ever growing wish list...LOL, alongside that little 5 window coupe ;D

`Boots`

I get them from AK Interactive USA, there must be some place there in the UK that has them, if not then AK Spain.

scratchmod

Oh Man !, ROB, that Green Grime would look so tasty on a Car in a Junk yard .... Under a weeping willow ! With that Spanish Moss, that Grimey Green would tie in perfectly.

I'll have to get some at th AMPS show & see how it looks on Metallic stuff. Look over Their whole line/set-up. I can't wait to see you Roxidize & Slime that HT !!
