Scale Model Magazines

None. I used to subscribe to FSM the first year when it first came out. Not anymore.

After FSM, I no longer subscribe to any model related magazines anymore. It's always the same old stuff no matter the publication. Weathering, new products, how-to's, etc…

It's fine, if you want to see cool builds and stuff and all. For me, they're not worth the money anymore. Once you see one, you've seen them all. Tamiya only caters to their products only. Not to mentioned, magazine and subscription prices are ridiculous nowadays.

I'd rather buy aircraft related magazines for inspiration for future builds and stories. I love FlyPast, a U.K. magazine and used to buy it monthly. Kinda stopped buying them due to cost of magazine - $13. Haven't bought FlyPast in two years or so. I'm sure they raised their single issue prices by now.

If you are a member of the International Plastic Modelers Society in the USA (IPMS/US), they have a by-monthly (I think) magazine that comes with your membership (currently it's $60 for three years). I believe other IPMS groups around the world also have magazines or other publications.

I also subscribe to Fine Scale Modeler, they were recently bought out and from what the new publisher says, he has plans to bring FSM (and other magazines formerly owned by Kalmbach Media) to their former glory. Time will tell.

When I was a kid, I'd save my allowance for Scale Auro Enthusiast but it has sadly gone to the great mailbox in the sky.
