I have seen photos of tank barrels split it apart and holed by another tank.

Yeah , I have several photos of exploded barrels , from fatigued steel , and direct hits from enemy fire

I have seen a RAAF film about how WW2 bombers dropped bombs through their own bombers below them... something, at the time, you would not see in a film or documentary.
