Thanks Q,

Yes this build was good for me. I have figured out a lot of what was holding me back. My skills as a modeler are much much improved.

I still haven't finished up that base, only one more day to go, the pressure is on! I don't think I am going to make it...So my contest entry will be delayed one day. :'(

Thanks for the info JediPuju. I knew that deep down inside, it just wasn't on the surface.

Here is the next update, decals on the 747 and it didn't really go well......but I did manage to save it....

That 747 would have died a LONG time ago on my bench.

John, that decal disintegration sucks. I feel for you. I'd just try to;
a) paint 'em on - but the model is small an difficult to mask
b) approximate and print your own decals on white decal paper
c) try cutting the stripes out of blue vinyl electrical tape and using that...

anyways don't give up on this one. you will be very pleased when it's actually finished...
