Re: T 34/85 Zvezda 1/35 Abandoned

Hi Fellas, Thanks all for the comments.
I started the process in the assembly of the bullet, the base is made of sawdust and cold glue,
to fast drying I put the base in the electric oven to 212 º F three times for periods of 30 minutes each.
Now comes the setting of the land.

You know you are on the right track when the model looks like it should actually have some weight. The details such as the rocks add extra character.

Looking great Richard!! Can't wait to see you add all the ground clutter!! ;)

wow the base is Rocking, also a very interesting way of making it :)

K4;

Excellent, Excellent, and Excellent ….If I had only half your skillz I’d be happy. You even turned a new barrel…sweet, I love that stuff!

PS: I was away and have since been swamped and work...haven't had a minute to reply to you..but I will soon.

Re: T 34/85 Zvezda 1/35 Abandoned and Completed!!!

Hi fellas
Back from a short holiday, enjoying the summer 8), Lol, and you are with the heaters there. :D :)
I finished this model a few weeks ago (mid-December 2011).

A little review:

This is one of the T-34/85 tanks sent by Egypt to support the Republicans in the civil revolution in the 60's in Socotra Island Yemen.

The T-34/85 that were on the way, are simply abandoned to date on the coast of the Island

How your original color was the russian green and after painted sand by the Egyptians, the challenge of the model, was to get the replica the weathering of the years, where the rust, russian green starts to appear, the same time begins to disappear the color of sand.

The model is brand Zvezda in scale 1 / 35, quite bad, but that was no problem to modify and to achieve this result. Lol, I was faiting with the model for 4 months or more??? :-\ :'(

The products used in this project are 100% “K4 Products” , glues, paints, filters, washes, rust effect, pigments, etc, ....

I leave you some pics that shows the beautiful scenery of the Socotra island, with strange and unique trees
