Weathering, for me, is a lot of fun.
My 2 favorite weathered models are my PBY Catalina and my first German tank, I actually used putty for the zimmerit.

Wow !!!!!I have been thinking about doing a PBY Catalina over the past 2 days. I found a 1/72 version by Academy. I would love to know what model you did and if you would be willing to share with me your version. I just love the Cat. It was such an unsung hero of WWII

Aside from the direction of the decals, which has already been pointed out, this is a very well built and weathered P-47 Gary and you are well ahead of me on your weathering skills. Well built and photographed Razorback bud.

I had a 1/72 from Academy "Black Cat"
I attached a few pics.
My weathering is subtle, but effective.

Really sweet build. This is the same kit I was eyeing, and thinking of doing it in the routine or normal Navy colors of the Pacific, blue gray top and light gray bottom. Thanks for sharing
