Anybody ever used clear flat paint over glossy paint?

There are two paints I need to put a clear flat coat over semi-gloss paint.

grey semigloss

and

Olive Drab semigloss

I can't find a paint number for the landing gear struts... just white or something

Yes. It helps cut down the shine of glossy paint - especially in military subjects.

Aluminum. Plain old silver works

same color as main body color. look at step 25. You will see a small spot where silver needs to go.

Can i just paint clear flat to cover the orange gloss?

What's the Black metallic for??? Burnt Iron what you need for the exhaust nozzles. Clear red on landing lights would be hard to paint over olive drab. I usually use stop light red metallic for most of my wingtip lights/landing lights.

Don't spray flat clear until you done all your decals. And make sure you mask all clear windows before spraying any paint, including flat clear. Otherwise, you will get a frosted look on your windows.

Flat clear will seal in your decals to prevent peeling / yellowing over time.
