I just noticed something... I have never seen these two kits photographed side by side before.... And I know that the re-fit is supposed to be larger than the original....

Actually all the weathering is on the TOS Enterprise. The Refit as I depict her is meant to be clean right out of spacedock. So you're kind of seeing a before and after in the last 4 pics.

Yeah, the refit Enterprise was never heavily weathered was it? She didn't really last long after she took a smashing against Khan, the events after that were all leading up to her eventual (spoilers) destruction at the end of Search for Spock.
It's one of my goals to have 2 enterprise models complete to place side by side each other. So far I haven't even got round to building 1 yet!
