Hi all
My friend has asked me to build a model of his favourite tank on World of Tanks, the T-34 as below
As he is going to have this on top of his PC whilst he plays the game I thought I would try a 1/48 kit, a scale i've never tried before. I went with the Hobby Boss T34-76, not a perfect match to his tank but close enough.
Firstly the kit, and what a kit it is. I really rate Hobby Boss kits but this one is absolutely awesome, one of the best kits I've built. It comes with full interior, suspension, engine, transmission the lot (shame most of it won't be in show!) And the detail would be excellent in 1/35 never mind 1/48 and the best thing is it cost £10! thats the usual sale price not an offer too.
I built the kit OOB, just changing a few details to match the WOT pictures
The only detail that wasn't present on the T-34 was the cast texture on the turret
So I got busy with some Revell plastic glue and and old brush I keep for this purpose and created the texture
I painted up the interior before sealing the lid
Then sprayed the different shades masking in between with blutack.
It's a bit bright at the moment but after a few filters it should tone it down a bit
I can see myself building a few more 1/48 kits in the future!
Thanks for looking
