Hey folks! I stared a new build. Not going all out on it, because I don't really do the multi-month builds anymore, but I'm using correct colors etc.

It's a Revell 71 Plymouth GTX. This one was the Fast & Furious 2in1 version.

I pre-painted the interior bits, the tub and a few other parts on the trees with a base coat of satin black just to make it easy. When I remove then I'll clean them up and do a touch up coat.

The car body itself is going factory correct J6 Sassy Grass green. I've laid a base coat on just for now. I'm going to go with a body color surround for the grill instead of chrome. I wanted a clean look, so I shaved off the spoiler mounts on the trunk

Finally back with some updates. I usually hammer out model builds on a weekend, but I had to wait on some stuff for this one. Namely decals, and wheels, which I ordered online. They are found in a 20yr+ old revell 70 Roadrunner (they are incorrect for a 70). The 6 slot wheels were could be had in late 71 onward. Silver dog dish covers will follow

Decals are custom…Road Runner style, but don't actually say Roadrunner. The stobe roof stripe was a common add on

Pretty sharp! I like the body colored grille surround. That looks nice.

Thanks!! I was going to leave the grill surround (bumper) chrome, as they were on some cars…but I think the green with the green wheels looks sharp.

Those were some good looking cars.
So is your's!
A buddy in high school had a 70 Roadrunner that same color, I kinda prefer the 71, 72 models.

Thank you!! I'm happy with how it turned out for a quick build, and they were cool looking cars. I'm with you on the 71-72s having more style. It's unpopular opinion but they weren't as slab sided as the 68-70s. I do like them all though!
