You sure about that? I disagree. Tamiya Pure Red is lacquer in both spray and bottle.

it actually does not say on the can anywhere i could find, so i guess its lacquer.

here is the progress, interior done, some of it was a happy accident when i changed colors on the blanket (why did i do green lol) but the dark green sort of shows through and then i stamped it with a firm brush and it looks like a fuzzy blanket which is what i wanted in the first place lol. Same with the pillow but no brush stamp i love the look and all by accident lol.

Of course now progress comes to a hault while i try to save my windshield from tamiya glue.

Tip, do not remove the protective plastic guard on the side steps until after you get the body mounted. The steps are very weak and i broke one just handeling it trying to mount the body. The body is a pain to get mounted. Because you have to spread the body to mount it and it wont spread because its already been glued to cab. I used a flat dental tool to pry the body apart enough to slip on.

its done other than the decals which i will wait till i get my custom "durango daves" logos done for mudflaps, doors and behind sleeper.

Gonna let it sit and dry till tomorrow, then ill clean all smudges off chrome with qtip and touch up any paint. Then decals and ready for grandson.

Tip- when you mount the passenger side aircleaner, pull it as far as you can back towards the side door. Mine is correct but when you lift hood, passenger side rubs on finder as you lift it up. Drivers side clears no problem. Passenger side is about a 8th of an inch from clearing.

Youll see the pic im pointing with a chrome piece where it rubs.

I still think its so funny how they have a manual shifter and no clutch in the model LOL. I guess double clutching is no longer an option. Wait till the CDL instructor tells me to double clutch that because its still required to pass the test. I wonder if i would fail if there was no clutch pedal at all.

i can see the pedals. Its interesting because its suposed to be from plans of the original and they went through the effort to put other pedals, why not a clutch It seems strange that they chose to leave that out for whatever reason.

Ok. Yeah I drove tractor trailers for 32 years owned my own back in 1995 it was a International Transtar coe 1979 model now I went back to dump trucking (semi retired) in 2022. AMT has a Kenworth mixer out now cheap on eBay it's a nice kit. Just a idea. I always liked mixers I started one on the old site we were on. Some day I'll get back to it. It was the old Ertl Mack DM800. Hood you get one and start it.

I noticed you had some problems with your rear wheels. If you want you can take them off and stuff them with paper towels rolled long ways and they should "Puff" out and fit better. Just one of the down falls of this kit. Just some friendly advice

the problem is that part of the model is one very weak point, if i try to take them off it will surely break. If i ever do this kit again the first thing i will do is fix this weakness defect.

The tires seem to be acceptable now since they are together and glued. If that changes yeah i will use caulk or tube insulation to stuff them

Glad you got it beat into Submission. I don't think I would use caulk it might melt the plastic over time with the properties it has.

maybe a non silicone caulk or even liquid nails

On the axle all they have to do is make it one solid stick of plastic all the way across for both sets of tires. That would be strong enough to handle the weight. But the way it is now with the short nub and a weld its not going to hold. I caught a second one about to break yesterday and fixed it too.

Sure if you want to share it.. I did find the one on ebay in houston and ordered it.
