Hey,
Good to see you back on track here. This particular model has been Mobey Dick to my Captain Ahab. I had a moment like the father did in A Christmas Story after his leg crumbled after it broke and he tried to glue it all back together...I left it alone.. I have the saucer section completed of the next one..if you dig back further enough on my youtube page you'll see the end result of that model.
Bloody conniption fit.
If you can steer this one home, then you are a better man than me. Just keep your course steady and follow the star you know that will get you home. ARRRRRR
Anyone that tackles this model has a love for it that stems from the moment it got revealed in that first movie. Followed by the heart break of watching it blow up in the third movie..Dude, I almost walked out in tears..but I was a kid and also thought Inframan was cool.
My mistake was trying to do it before I had more sub-assembly painting and building experience..and not a clear plan on getting it all together in the end. ALso...not using the right paint for the job. I started with a base coat of Model Master buffing stuff..and no matter what I did..the vinyl lifted the paint underneath.
Anyway..I'm pretty sure you can do a much better job.
