Re: Adampolo13's BSC Thread
Alrighty dooder mcdudes, I gotz another update fer yalls.
After messing with the engines last night and realizing that with the bay doors open those notches and gaps would just look like crap. So I did some test fitting tonight and realized engines can go in later. This was most excellent news.
I started with getting the left hand side using mr dissolved putty.
When that wasn't drying fast enough I just switched to super glue and baking soda and started on the cargo bay doors. Since I'm going to have the doors open I really didn't want this ugly step/gap there.
After a bit of sanding and blending of the paint I got this...
Once I had the left hand done engine bay and cargo I attached the two halves and started on the right hand side.
Looks much better this way I think.
I did start to glue the two halve together in just a few spots. My plan is to clamp and band a small section each day over the next few days. Truly the fit is pretty amazing but I want to go slow just to try and minimize any filler later.
While the pant was drying I decided to check the fit of the doors just to see what kind of issues to expect when I go to paint this thing.
Welp, none really.
I did take off a little too much on the right side when I was standing... Nothing some blue take won't keep plugged up when I paint it.
I'm not worried about that because the doors will be open and you'll never know. Besides it looks better smoothed out.
That's about all she wrote for now. Picture updates probably won't be as massive over the next few days as I'll be slowly working on the center seam. At the same time I'll also be working on the engines and starting the wings and things.
Thanks for following along.
