Thanks, guys. I have been working away at this over the past few days. I have some photos taken, just to get them uploaded. Gave the entire plane a nice coat of Alclad Aluminium, then highlighted the bits that will remain metal in Chrome. I have been playing with trying to get a nice bluish faded tint to the black that this aircraft was painted in. Happy so far with the result- must get some photos up to show what I mean ;D

As promised here are a couple of shots of the upper surface of P-47M. I used Mr Hobby Cobalt Blue deepened with black to simulate the slightly faded black look of the aircraft.





WIll try to get this finished in the next day or so before clear coating and getting decals on.

Masks off to reveal the NMF finish on the leading edges of the wings and tail. Next up will be clearcoat, ready for decals.

Decals done- just some stencils to add to the underside.
Pleased with the way this is turning out so far, despite my efforts to wreck it.

I am looking for a slightly weathered look with this one as I know she didn't see that much front line service, due to the problems with the engine on the M model- just doing some fading to the paint and some dirt- not too much chipping.

Been doing a bit of weathering.




Adding some worn effects and dirt to the wing roots, and stains from some of the hatches. This is just a very thin mix of paint about 90% thinner.

All panels lines have been given a wash of AK Interactive Panel liner.

Going away for a few days to sunny Portugal.

Last update before I go. Pretty much finished all the paint/weathering to the upper fuselage.

Will get the bottom done when I get back and get her all together. The cowling is not glued on yet, btw.
