I actually used the gray from the kit. I just added a camel hump of water to it lol.
My greys were either too dark or too light.

I think this is a perfect model for a beginner. The suggested tools which the instructions recommend would help him/her with this build.
The instructions are nicely done. There are clear marks for where to paint and what color to paint, and where to glue. It's basically a paint and glue by numbers.
I think the beginner might have a little frustration with the orange color coverage, and the quality of the paint. A couple of my paint pots were extremely thick, others were dried up or really crusty. The only color that was good-ish is the white. I think a better quality should be used in these kits.

All-in-all it's a good starter kit, with minor hiccups

looking good guys, I've thought about grabbing one of these and changing it to 13-40 as we had our late fathers name put into her 'Serial Number ' last year..
but I've no idea how the hell to create new decals.
