So what would you build to counter the threat of the LRDG and SAS coming and going as they please from the deep desert?



... another old one from the Italian shelf (Aug 2023), any new Italian vehicles will have to be built.

Suffice it to say that I just think it is another odd, but way-cool looking bit of Italian design.

Very nice model and wonderful weathering... How did you do the chipping? Touch up after painting or hairspray/chipping products?

I've got that same kit in the stash, with the resin parts and figures. I haven't started it because I just know I would end up doinga lot of work to correct a whole bunch of smaller errors it has (see this thread on the TWENOT forums; note that this links to an auto-translated version so it may have odd turns of phrase).

How did you do the chipping

Thanks! Just with brush... random with special attention to edges I thought might get more wear. A bit of Tamiya Weathering Master.

Thanks! more recently, I came across a chap in a video who suggested this brush approach: first daub what you think might be the undercoat, whether the original factory colour, and/or primer: the same colour as you might use elsewhere for scuff marks, then if you like, a smaller, concentric daub of rust, and another, smaller spot of bare metal. I guess, the idea is you mix 'em up, for a more natural effect.

I tried it on my first tank, last fall. here is a close up:

Yup! A fun build for sure... A huge tub on oversized wheels, in some ways reminiscent of the DUKW, only built for the desert instead of water!
