Thanks guys! I was trying to get her finished because I started a new job this week and I knew my bench time was going to be really limited. I'd like to finish her up this week.

Very nicely done Jim. Got to agree with Chris; she looks great.

Next? How did the mustangs & mossie finish up?

Thanks guys! It always feels good to finish one up. This thing has some warts but it's OK. I used Future for the gloss coat and ended up with it way to thick. In the process of removing the top coat with alcohol I messed up a couple of the decals. I really need to strip the future and decals again and redo them but I'll need to find another one of those decal sheets somewhere first, it was an old sheet. In the end I decide to move on. I really just want to get some of these umpteen billion WIPS off of my bench. I have some other things I want to start. I'm already looking ahead to the 2013 Nats here in Colorado. 8)

Hey Jason,

Well, believe it or not, I didn't get a single one of those aircraft finished in time for the show. :'(

The P-40 and the F4U-4 I just finished were so close to being done that I actually took them to the show with me and registered them with the idea that I could squeeze out a few minutes to do the final assembly. well that obviously didn't happen. I hope to get the P-40 finished up tonight. The Chinese mustang isn't far behind. The other two 'stangs will probably wait until I finish the Mossie. Who knows. I'm just going with the flow at this point. I'm not even sure I'll get started on my BSC build. It's been tough getting back into the swing of having a full time job after almost three years of being laid off and that's really limiting my bench time. Toss in three kids and the end of the school year and I'm pretty much at everyone else's mercy at the moment.

Oh, and don't forget the eclipse today! ;) :D ;D

I know what you mean. I work at a polytechnic and April, May and June are crazy busy for me. Also my kids are old enough to want to go everywhere and not old enough to drive themselves places with the car. Oh, and my wife is a nurse working evening shifts :p. Yes I know what you mean. I like your "go with the flow" approach; I was planning to work on the Skyrocket and the 109, but the flow lead me to work on my BSC build. I'm not sure if I'll get it done, but I had some solid model making hours this evening. :) it was good.

I'm sure you'll find the time and get back in the swing. Besides the Corsair and the P-40 look great. Wish I had a "thumbs up" emoticon...

Jason

Thanks for those great comments Jason!

Another one getting close. Decals just went on tonight.

Chris... You like? ;) :D ;D

GF, Thanks, I'll slow down at some point. Once all these WIPS are out of the way. :-\

And then there was one! ;D
(On this list anyway)

1/48 Hasegawa F-4B
1/48 Hasegawa F4U-4
1/48 Tamiya Spit Mk.I
1/48 Otaki Spit Mk.VIII
1/48 Eduard Pfalz D.IIIa

1/48 Otaki Spifire Mk.VIII No 145 Squadron, Sqn Ldr G.R.S. McKay, Bellaria, Italy, 1944
Tamiya paints and kit decals. The decals were horrible! Some Tamiya smoke, silver pencil, and an overcoat of PollyScale dust for weathering sealed with a shot of good old Testors Dullcote. I think the bottom roundels are wrong but they were sealed in before I noticed. Oh well. Enjoy!

Another nice one Jim :) ...Looks sweet ,the roundels on the bottom look a bit big ,but I wouldnt worry about it ,there was a number of variations in them ;)
