I was working in Mildenhall yesterday. Small world. PanthermanWhat part of the UK are you in? I was stationed at RAF Mildenhall from 1976-1979.
What does this have to do with our hobby?I would love to hear about your favorite holiday traditions -
Do you open gifts up on Christmas Eve? Do you have tree decorating night? Let's share and get to know each other more.
Without sayin'What does this have to do with our hobby?
Usually I just try and spend it with my girlfriend and my children if they can get time and gas to come see us. For the holidays I usually smoke a ham and turkey. Just enjoy time with the family.I would love to hear about your favorite holiday traditions -

It's in the Chit Chat category which is not a hobby specific category. But I guess someone could come up with some kind of Christmas model group build to fit the bill. What does this have to do with our hobby?
That's a nice area. I used to take dance lessons at the Arthur Murray Studio at the High Street Kensington address. I think they have moved to Baker Street now. I had to give it up as I would be out too late and got back to the base after midnight. The amount of sleep I got on the train on the way back didn't ever seem to be enough. It started to affect my ability to stay awake at work <chuckle>. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Are you working on a model currently? I'm working on the 1/48 F-4E Phantom II by Italeri. It's a bit of a challenge with camouflage paint scheme on the outside. (Kit No. 2770) I have to use a pencil to trace the lines of separation between the colors by following the pictures in the instructions. While I was at Mildenhall in '76 or '77, I built the 1/48 B-17G Flying Fortress by Monogram. Lots of internal color but only three on the outside, Olive Drab on top and a shade of gray on the bottom, some red on the tail area and on the main wing tips. It was the Chow Hound. It took me a while, but I sure enjoyed it. I brought it back with me on the plane and it went to my paternal grandmother in 1979.That's about a 2 hour drive away I'm in south London, Wallington, just outside Croydon.
"I want an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle!"putting on the " the Christmas story" movie Christmas eve and it runs all through the night and all day on Christmas. that's our background "noise".
I sense a group build in the future! It's in the Chit Chat category which is not a hobby specific category. But I guess someone could come up with some kind of Christmas model group build to fit the bill.
Busy! The entire family, sometimes extended family, get together sometime around Thanksgiving and Christmas and process white-tailed deer like an assembly line.
Once, with the whole crew, took nine deer from hanging complete to ground/sliced/chopped/fileted/weighed/wrapped and packaged for the freezer in a day.
1/48 P-51's in Christmas colors, do your best job to turn the pilot into Santa.....I sense a group build in the future!
Love it!1/48 P-51's in Christmas colors, do your best job to turn the pilot into Santa.....
