Marder III Ausf.M

Chris this build was absolutely amazing and really inspired me. I have always loved the marder III, love playing it on WoT. After going through al 20 pages of this build I went online and bought one. Don't think I can achieve the level you are at right now but practice, practice, practice. Don't think I will tackle this right away but will put it off till I have a couple of other builds under my belt. Need to finish up the Dragon models Bison I'm working on first. Hopefully the instructions on the marder are a little better.............probably not.

Thanks again Chris

Thanks again fella's ...Just letting a coat of Klear dry out before the whitewash begins ;D

Dons ...Thanks you very much fella . Nice to know I've been an inspiration ;D Its a great kit which goes a long way to an enjoyable build ,and as you can see I havent added anything to it except the few extras in the fighting comp . The instructions are'nt actually to bad in this one ,just a few vague areas ,but thats par for the course ::)....You wont regret adding this one to the stash ,and I'll look forward to maybe seeing it sometime .....Please feel free to ask any questions at any time ;)
Thanks again .

Chris.

WHITEWASH !!!! ;D

During WW2 The Germans used a water based wash for their vehicles ,this ment that come the first rains after the snow the whitewash would start to wash off .This is what I intend to produce ???

As I want a well worn and washing off whitewash I didnt use the hairspray tech ,its good for flaking and damged paint ,but not for what I want . So Im using the enamels route instead .
Basically this means sealing the tank with Klear ,then the white is applied ,I've covered most of the vehicle in a rather patchy coat and tried to avoid going pure white !. To do that I thinned the paint down to about 70% thinners and applied it in very light coats .
Once its dried of a bit ,its simply a case of using different sizes of brushes dampened with thinners and removing as much of the whitewash as I want . Because Im using enamels it means I've no real time limit to work in and can do this without having to rush ;D

For those of you that dont like change or are a bit squimish look away ...NOW !!

Sweet whitewash there!!! Still scares the hell out of me!! :p Might do one sooner or later ;)

Thanks chaps ;)

Starting to remove the wash now ;D. I find the enamels / thinners tehcnique gives more control over things . you can also wear down the white revealing the yellow in places giving a more realistic effect ,I've only started here ,but you can see were its going.
