John , The idler is the wheel at the back of the track which is adjustable to take up slack in the track...this is all steel .
BUT...If you mean the top return roller , thats a question I havent answered myself yet ??? However its my 'opinion' that it would actually be a steel roller !. I say that for two reasons ,firstly I work with heavy Plant machinery everyday and as yet Havent came across a tracked machine with rubber rollers ?
Secondly ,and again only my opinion ...is ,If it were in fact made from rubber ,I'd say it would wear out pretty quick ,baised on the speed the roller would be rotating coupled with the fact its carrying the weight of the track ....Make sense ??
If anyone does know the answer ...please let me know ,I stand to be corrected
Spud ..you're absolutely right mate ,I just checked with the optivisors ....they say Continental round the wall ,which probably means they are rubber :....so I stand corrected ! I've just never seen rubber rollers on the machines I work with ,they're all steel .
No worries John ,and thanks for pointing it out , you work on the big stuff too then ;D , I cant wait to get my operation done so I can get back to playing with the big toys
Figures ....yeah just starting to colour them today . ;D
Here's the first one ,this is the first sitting with the oils ,once dry I'll push the shadows/highlights a bit more and add the details ...eyes etc at the same time
