Mercury 9

Nice update, G!
Very thoughtful of You to let the chip You've almost burned out run for a long period of time. My previous experience tells, that if the circuit continues to work after voltage applying mistake, then it is most probably ok and will be fine in future, but little can compare with when You glue everything together, seal well, deal with the seams, and then find some of the lights refusing to run. That's the feeling I would like never ever to learn :) If don't mind, I'd recommend You also to switch your circuits on and off for several times - as switching on is a lot more dangerous thing then constant running for dying electronics components, and if the circuit passes such kind of a test, then it is ok for 100%.
And BTW, once again, superb video ending! Can't resissst... musssst go make myself a ssssandwich!!.... ;D ;D ;D

Mmmmmm.... that cheese toastie looked good!

Lighting is looking superb on this Grendels. Coming along really rather well. 8)

Now; your alergies. Is it hay fever? If so, have you tried eating local honey?

Solander: You sir are correct. The most stressful part for the circuit is turning it on and off. I have done that to this circuit about 30 times since the last video and it is still working fine. So I am pretty sure it is OK.

Thanks Norm!

Igard: It is hay fever. And I do eat local honey all the time. My alergies have been decreasing in severity over the last four years. So I have hope that one day they will be gone.

Thanks Mike!

Glorfindel: Thanks, and thanks again, the sandwich was great!

Mercury 9 part 6: Putting her together

I used to be really bad with the hay-fever. All summer I'd be suffering, my eyes were the worst affected. Started eating local honey and I almost don't notice it anymore.

I think different people are affected by different things though. I'm sure with me it's the rapeseed crops. For some, it's when the grass outside gets cut.

Anway, I digress. Really moving on with her! Engines are looking nice, and man that half of the model really could be a Federation Shuttlecraft.

Good stuff, John.
AND right before you said it, I saw that lower hull of the ship sitting there with the engines lit up, and I was thinking of all the stuff that ship could make. :)
Great minds think alike?
;D ;)

Igard: My allergy is both mold a grass. Local honey will help with the grass, but not the mold. Mold is the worst one for me right now.

Yes this thing is just ready for bashing. I might get another one if I can find one cheap.

These videos are about a month old. I have been so busy that I have not had time to even post videos. I am trying to fix that, so expect updates pretty frequently for a bit. Well until I get caught up.

Thanks for the replies!

Make it so. 8)

Great stuff John - all of this reminds me of last year's competition! Spending those long hours at the bench, listening to your YT vids - except this year instead of hearing "seams", I hear "lights" (I keed, I keed ;D)

But seriously, excellent work!

[Now buy a second copy of the kit, bash the parts onto a Panzer and make the armor guys cringe ;D]

Nicely progressing. Looking forward to seeing her put together.
Very creative fix for getting power to the ship, BTW

Hey man, I just watched the video of you at your earth job. Really cool to see what you do! Great work on the mercury!

Thanks Fruit, and no worries, you just gave me evil ideas.......

Thanks Q, Mr. Natural, Biskup!

Igard: I miss that show....

And I think I will keep the name for the engines.

Here is the next update:

Mercury 9 part 7: Dio plans

This video was still before I got married. Updates will be fast these next few weeks so I can get caught up to where I actually am with the build.

The dio plan will be modified a bit. I don't know if I have time for the C130, this weekend will tell.

My videos are about a month behind where I actually am with the build. The Mercury 9 has been primered, the command center should see it's primer coat today. The base has the ground work done, just need to start installing the road ways, buildings and lights. Tonight I am going to scratch build a few warehouses. Should be fun!

Here is a preview of the command center:
