My 32 Rat

Thanks a bunch CT!

Just a small teaser update...

Stole away for a bit earlier to get into the booth and shoot some Alclad for the blower.....

Still got plenty to do before I start assembling the motor, but I'm starting to like this paint!!!

Thanks for having a LQQY!! ;)

Looks good T. Not sure if it is chrome or gold. Looks good either way though. What will you use for a belt? Painted masking tape works pretty good. Just fold it over to give it the thickness you like then paint flat black.

Thanks bud! It is chrome...the light is decieving a bit. Thanks for the tip on the tape. Ways off from that point but good to know. ;)

The blower looks great. Big fan of alclad myself. Adds so much realism to a build.

Hey TRM

Looking forward to this its looking good.I am a big fan of the Alclads also, have you tried the metalizers from Testors Model Master line the finish from them are very good they have buffing and non buffing metalizers.
The non buffing have no shine and the buffing are high shine when the buffing metalizers dry they leave a powder on the surface then buff and the finish looks as the actual material should look.
The range of colours are good also example stainless steel buff and non buff gunmetal buff and non buff steel buff and non buff etc.Give them a try if you havn't already

XXXNITRO

Thanks for all the kind word fellas!! ;D

@XXX - -Thanks for that tip buddy! I have not tried then as of yet, but have seen some amazing results from others...especially the Steel! Putting down on the 'I need to get some' list right now! ;)

Hey mucker...................you stalled buddy, kinda strange not seeing an up-date from ya

`Boots`

LOL....no Boots, not stalled. Just patiently putting engine part together and planning my AB/booth time on other stuff. I'll have some pics for ya later....thanks for rattling the cage a bit!

Hey fellas!! Just a little update (Mainly so Boots don't think I'm sleeping ;D ) I painted the block and started geting some of the parts added to the engine.

The wire off to the left is off the starter, hopefully will find a home at some point.

Above, I was able to get the pulley face plate mounted and installed the belt. Thanks to Chris Spaulding, the electrical tape seemed to do the trick! That would be the inline fuel filter off to the right...still need to mount the lower half.

Sorry for the nasty picture here...just a bit too close for the shot but you get the idea....I ran the fuel line connecting the carbs. What looks like a white chunk taken out of the valve cover will be the placement of one of the rad hoses later on.

Still have plenty to do...ignition wires, build the blower intake, not to mention work on the exhaust manifold and pipes.

It's always appreciated when you just stop by... ;) Thanks!!

Very Nice Detail T!!! That engine is really gonna pop in this build. Can't wait to see more. You're giving me the itch to build a rat. ;D

Thanks guys!

@ CT - Go for buddy!!! Can't have enough Rats running around! ;)

@ Ace - Seems a little odd doesn't it?....roughly being done off a Tom Roberts designed motor. I liked the look of his motors...some Bad A$$ stuff. Most I have seen from him have the smaller serpentine...must make up for it with engineering!! 8)

yea, i like it beacuse you dont typically see serpentine belts on older engines like that, even customized decked out flat head V8s have the malty belt configuration, i really like how you made your own belt, and everything hooks up too it, even the blower! .

Thanks Q, MMM, SA & Ace! Appreciate it!! ;D

Back to the work week grind!!! :p
