old rusty Karl-Gerat LOKI ????? any interest !!

Will it be just heavily rusted or badly damaged as well? I'm not finding much pictures of those blown up! Maybe I don't look hard enough?

Nice work on the liner!

rob all i can say is You better finish this sucka once you start and not let us hanging for years!!!!!

Nice update

227...... There were only 7 built, or rather 6 as one was never finished. One Karl was severely damaged when one of the charges exploded. Another, the #V LOKI, was hit in the forward motor area blowing out most of the front end. The LOKI and another early Karl were both captured by US forces as the were on rail transport to the Remagen area. Well that's what the book says at least. I will have to speak to the author about that last part because if you go by what is written and shown in the book, then there were 3 captured Karl's. Or it was two late chassis Karls with the Loki being a 041 variant.

Back to the kit.......I started marking out the bolt locations for the suspension components ( return wheels etc ) and also the side framing. But I have run into a slight prob. The one side works out fine according to the ref drawing, but the other is completely off. Will have to figure it out some time.

Found this pic on the web, will show you what type of damage has to be done on this baby.

FOR DISCUSSION ONLY

are you going to Depict that one ??? cuz I don't recall you saying you had the Rail transport kit with it ???

either way..... Tons of work awaits you.... but we are on the edge of our seats... keep doing what you are doing.... it's always better than TV to watch you go !

Later !

No rail cars in my kit. I planned on not using them and only the Karl its self will be used in the dio

Just picked up some needed styrene strips, so work can continue on this puppy

Hey Rob, sorry, but... what a surprise: I have just readen your building article about the Shermie that is down to pieces ´cause it is used as a target in a shooting range!

I didn´t knew it was you until now !!! :D

What did to you that Shermie ?? It seems the Gruyere cheese of a Gruyere cheese!
Cheers, man

as soon as i saw it on the mag i grabed a copy :) jelly rob has a few vids on his youtube channel of that build. something he should do again!!!!!!!! :p

Thanks Spud, no vids for a while bro...sorry.

Yep they haven't sent me a copy yet. Went to the LNS and they won't have it in til next month. Funny with the article part, I had sent them the wrong text and when they asked for the correct text it was too late, lost it to a PC virus. Had to sit and try and re write the text from memory. The first one was better and longer. I've dropped the editor an email but have yet to hear back...oh well

No work on the Loki, but will be buying a bunch of nuts and bolts for the interior

it was a bit short alright :p still nice to see our friends get published

A friend of my build the railgun Leopold and your build is shaping up much like his. :D Now if you scratch build the othere two sections' seen in the black & white photo. You would really have one heck of a show stoper! ;)

Thanks Caveman....don't plan on scratching the rail cars, just the LOKI.

Small update now that the LOKI has taken over the bench. Some of the interior scratch stuff done, will be adding all the nearly 200 NBW's in the next day or two.
