old rusty Karl-Gerat LOKI ????? any interest !!

Hey Chris, Good luck tomorrow bro.

RG I'll try to answer your question. What you see as a white cylinder is sheet styrene lining the the gun. The " barrel is grooved" and Trump provides an insert for that. The barrel with breech block goes through the gun block. The block is smooth as the barrel goes through that in when fired and recoiled. I added the lining because the block was hollow and was not correct if you show the barrel and breech removed. If I were to leave the barrel in the block then there would be no need to line it.
Hope that helps, or makes sense.

:) OK, Rob, I´ve understood your explanation perfectly: I just didn´t figure what was that lining, now it is 100% clear to me.

Anyway, the joining of the extremes of that styrene sheet must be perfect... I can´t see anything!

Thanks for you clarification, Rob :)

Good to hear. The reason for the clean seam is that it's on top ;D and hopefully not seen very well unless you go really low and look up. But then there will be other things in the dio that will obstruct your view. ;D

;) Good simple trick, Rob

It was my main hypotesis... as otherwise your glueing skills would be superhuman !!! ;)

But I has to ask ! I tell you that one can´t be absolutely sure ! ;D
Thanks, Rob,
RG

haha good idea there rob i had wondered my self but was to lazy to ask :)

I thought we have a lot of rain here, but I see that we don't...

Rob, that's a huge thing. You might need the whole paint bottle for the basecoat :)

;D ;DAlready stocked up Roman.
No progress on this baby tonight, been playing with weathering and effects on something else.

Will try to get some time in on this in the next day or so.

Nice to see you are experimenting with other Colors...and product!

That Truck looks pretty cool! What is the background? Swampy field? Since so much green on it...
That Morser will wear you out !!! LOL she is a big Gal isn’t she ?

Hiya fellas, glad you dig the water in the head light trick ;D ;D Not sure how the base will be ::)

Here is where I left off on the LOKI. I used sheet styrene for the hull floor and sides. Just dry fitted at the moment, the motor comp will get the same treatment.

Once I am done with the other project then I will spend much more time on the LOKI.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.....Sorry bud, laughing because you really struggled till the last pic to get the whole damn thing in the frame!!! ;D ;D

OK...back on track here!! Making some nice filler progress!! Can't wait to see the internals come to life on the big girl!!! ;)

Yes and yes ;D sorry for the late reply fellas.

Hope to get some time in on this baby since the weathering here is crappy and raining....means no painting. Been studying the ref pics and planning the interior.

I'd love to but I don't thing it'll go over too well....copyright thing you know :( The pics in the panzertracts book are the same that are on the internet, even the drawings. Had I done a search first, I wouldn't have bought the book :'(

Did some scratch work on the inner hull, mainly sheet styrene for the floor, walls and bulkheads. Now the fun part begins.

Now for a few update pics. Not much done except made some hull liners that will hide the upper and lower hull joints and also make it easier to mark part locations. The white parts lying next to the hull are index card templates. This makes it easier to make the styrene parts on the first shot with no waste. Up next will be supports and frame work.
