SMA MAGAZINE ANNOUNCEMENT

Ken and Scott, i do understand the fact that shipping is expensive and i was just expressing my shock (for lack of a better word) at the cost since im used to purchasing within Europe. im still excited about the magazine and depending on how things go, i may opt for a print subscription later on ;D

yes as andri says we aint used to the costly price. but as Ken has explained there is a good reason for it, mainly shipping. :)

Waiting till 1 AM this evening (patiently) to place the order. Us disabled freeks that have to rely on 1 time a month payday ha ha. Loves this time of the month but hates it as well. Have to pay bills but then get to splurge on supplies for the hobby we all love. So watch for my order around 1-1:30 AM this morning Scott.

Considering the amount & quality of content in the mag ,I think its actually quite reasonable pricewise . The shipping is something we all have to bear unfortunatley , but consider this ! how much have you paid in shipping over one year for kits & parts etc , its just the fact that you have to take it in one hit when you subscribe to any mag thats a bit of a shock ,but Im willing to bet a lot of us have spent more on shipping over a one year period on other stuff and thought nothing off it ;)

Chris.

As I said before, considering the magazine will actually have content worth reading as opposed to a few piddly articles and the rest of the mag chalk full of adds, I think the price is probably a better deal than most of the other magazines. The shipping for anything these days is crazy. Even for Scott at ECH to send me a model (next province over) would be anywhere between $15 and $25. Sad but true.

I think it's pretty safe to say Ken and Scott won't be getting rich off of this venture. When we see them smoking cigars and wearing chunks of gold around their necks, we'll know they are getting somewhere. ;D

Yup as Chris says there's tons of great content, its definetly worth it, and also I buy my mags when I go into town which is about a 30 min drive, so that's diesel and car park money to think about lol!

Magazine previews look awesome. My preorder is signed and sealed.

I've got to believe there's a TON of work that goes into a magazine - especially one with this quality level. Thanks Ken and Scott for your investment and support of the hobby! Looking forward to issue #1.

If there's one thing I learned from Hurricane Sandy, Order Print Subscription! When your power goes out for 4 days and counting you'll be happy to have a quality magazine to read! Haha.

the $60 for the sub isnt a bad price when converted to euro. it just hits us harder for the shipping but as said by Ken if he wants to sub to a mag over this side he gets hit with the same deal. it sucks but i will most likey bite the bullet ;D

Not sure what the shipping rate is for Ken to send it to a Canadian address, but depending on the weight of the magazine (I am basing the weight from the AK Weathering Mag), shipping within Canada from me for the magazine will like be between $3.33 and $4.12 for shipping. Price of the magazine will be whatever the cover price they are setting for it.

I just shipped the most recent issue of a racing newspaper to a buddy of mine in Dubland, Ireland that was 2 lbs (used as a estimation on the high side) in a Priority Mail Flat Rate envalope that couldn't go above 15" X 9 1/2" in measurements for $16.95. It could have weighed up to four lbs. But had it gone over the 15" X 9 1/2" measurements good lord it shot up to $38. Postage is horriable to go International anymore these days.

If anybody were ordering from ECH it would make sense to get the magazine along with it. The extra weight wouldn't likely make much difference.

PharmPony, Scott posted this back a page, hope this helps.

Yes, we are going to also offer a Flip Book Style digital version, like the one I showed you Jeeves. It will be pricing less than the app.

This way, no iPad, or desire to go through Pocket Mags, no problem. The app will work better on the iPad though as the flipbook is a bit.....buggy on iPad. But as you've seen it works great on Nook, and a browser on Windows or Mac. It works on iPad...don't get me wrong. But since iPad doesn't support Flash, the zooming isn't perfect.

Thanks man, and you'd be correct.

...and if I may be completely honest with you, if I were doing this to get rich I would have given up months ago. ;)

I would want a digital sub, as i am in the uk, but in a format and delivery for the android platform please. cant wait for this to be available
