Some painting over the weekend.
I've used cheap old poster paints. Call me miserly, but .. meh...
So far I'm pretty happy with capturing the comic book look.




And with the professionally landed ship in mock up position, landing gear in its normal location

Yep........I use those cheap poster paints for ground washes all the time!

Painting started on the cockpit.
Theres so many varying color schemes, but I've just gone with a 'nice standard garish purple'.
In the pics its come out with a lot more blue in it, but it is seriously purple..

Also being a 'scratcher' in my house if its not screwed down it might be in the build

Theres been a bit of real life interruption in my model building at the moment...
Theres been a little bit of progress, so I'll post what I've done

Heres the seat, its the sheet styrene seat built over a couple of nascar seats, then seven sprue strips glued to that, covered in some leftover fabric. Again, total cost zero. (my moneys tighter than a fish's bum at the moment)


Top skin with the fins glued on, a bit of sanding, and a light primer coat


A couple of views of the cockpit with some washes and drybrushing

Hmm. Bit of a setback..
the paint and primer I used on the ship, upper skin only, funnily enough, didn't agree with each other.
I guess thats my lack of experience showing there... ???
Anyway, the whole top skin of paint/primer decided to spit the dummy and just peeeeeEeeeEEeel off in a large sheet during sanding.
No pics of that of course, but its set me back a little bit.

Also installed the elctronics, well actually just a few LED's. Well its my first try so dont judge..... ;D

Yep. After all the work so far, he's going to make or break it. Unfortunal=tely until I get the ship etc. in position, I can't sculpt him.
