Spitfire MK.IX (Tunisia 43 )

Excuse me while I push my eyes back into my head. I feel like those three Nazi guys looking into the Ark of the Covenant. Outstanding Chris. On the Winter Grime for the panel lines....do you pin wash it in there? When it dries do you use a brush or Q-tip to sop up any excess?

Hi Anthony ,thanks buddy :)

I think I ran through how I do the panel lines in the Dauntless build . BUT , if you dont mind waiting a bit I am planning an article on how I paint & weather aircraft ..in the near future (for the site) ,which will include doing the camo's etc ;)

Chris.

Thanks again fella's :)

Just a quick update ,Im playing with a different camera and took a few shots to try it out :) .
I've only got the undercarraige done and the props assembled with the spinner (not fixed to the aircraft yet ) Still to do more weathering including chipping ,paint the exhausts & exhaust stains ,then flat coat and finally fit the canopy / ariels :) ....nearly done !

Sweet Molly in the Manger! Brother that reminds me of Mom's roast beef cooking in the oven on Sunday afternoons. Just couldn't wait to see it so I could claim a piece before my brothers got to it first. Just delicious.

Thanks Anthony , your comments are always very much appreciated ;) ...Should have this one wrapped up over the weekend ,then finish up the big lady ( Lanc) :)

Chris.

Thanks Adam :) ...got all the chipping done ,on to some weathering now .I think the next update will be the last for this one ;)

I'd bow in the presence of greatness but two things prevent me from doing this. First we're an ocean apart. Second if I bow my lower back my never recover. Excellent job Chris. I feel like a yeoman performing meaningless tasks when I look at your work. Crazy chipping too if I might add.

Thanks Gentlemen :) ...Always nice to have you along ,and your comments are very much appreciated .

On with the Lanc .... ;D

Chris.

Great work Chris. Solid build, another fantastic warbird.

Jason

Great job Chris! The chipping looks grand. I don't personally think you can overdo the weathering on a desert Spit or P-40 or anything for that matter. The paint takes a beating in the sun. I've seen pics of props with all the paint abraded off the outer 3/4's of the blades. ;D

Thanks again gents for the kind words ,glad you like it ....Might have to do a Desert Hurri to go with it now ;)

Chris.
