I had originally intended to give this a really worn whitewash..and although I'm still debating I'm no longer so sure. What do you think? Should I go for it?

Honestly?

No.....I think a white wash would just cover up most of the work you have already put into it, which looks great BTW.

Could still do a wintery scene.....first snow fall maybe, just sporadic snow scattered over the ground and some laying on the tank itself as if it hadn't moved all night.

Just a light dusting would look cool.

I vote "NO" not on this one anyway.
Wait until you mess up a camo paint job and then white wash it. ;D

Tony lee :)

SCOTT ,

Although now that I think about it ... I agree ... Don't cover up this Great work with a white wash .

You are Bangin' away on this ! I dig th Dirt & Mud. Looks very realistic !! The different colors .. everything ....

Are you sure you've never done this before ??

Smokin' Bro !!

\m/

Yeah, it would be stupid to cover up 4 days work.

Never did I intend to give it a full white wash though....just leave like 10% on...like it was spring and only the last of it hadn't came off.

Here's a cool pic of a KV-1, winter, w/o a whitewash.

well ima say no also i would ahve done teh white wash before all the weathering,

I vote no on the WW also. lots of great looking work in this already. I'd hate to see it covered up.

Cool. No pun intended. No white wash this time. Sometime, but not this time.

Thanks for the votes!

White wash comes off rather fast anyways, maybe lasting a month at best if it's not reapplied.

Great build Scott for a first time tank!

Regards

Thanks!

Last night I made a mix of Celluclay, glue, water, some dark pigments and dried dirt. I left it to dry overnight. This morning I airbrushed a variety of earth tones using Vallejo Model Air.

From there...well a ton of stuff including Woodland Scenics. I made a fence using dowel and stir sticks...and incorporated the smallest of my 'furnace filter' trees.

I had received a sample of the upcoming Armor Farm scenery line and I gotta say, it's very convincing. I've used their Saplings, Grass, and Bushes so far. Still lots to do but that's a wrap for today.

looking awsome scott. i cant wait to get hold of some of that armor farm stuff. one thing i would say is if you having the ground soft like the tank tearing it up and sinking in so deep is adding some wet effects to it.

Thanks Spud. Yeah, wet mud and stuff to come for sure. I'll save winter for the King Tiger.

Whoaw.......awesome first tank mate, gratz on the paint job....looks almost photo like.

Loved that film, the original was sooo much better than all the sequals (except maybe the one with Donald Sutherland ;D).
