T34/76

Scott, I have painted a lot of tanks in my time, but never with color modulation..or the fancy AK products. I must say that you are inspiring me to try this stuff very soon.

Keep it rocken!

Looking great Scott! Love the efeects and I like where you headed on the base!!! S-aaaaa-mokin'!!! 8)

Thanks guys. I'm having a ton of fun with this. Looks like I'll actually finish this one. ;)

I'm thinking that a tank driving up a hill is ok...but a figure of some sort sure would be nice...like a supporting actor of sorts.

I don't have any Russian figures. I have some German figures but...and I have a 1/35
animal set with a horse and a German Sheppard and a pig. LOL.

Any suggestions?

if you plan on having it nocked out then a gerry would be fine other than that the horse would prob be better but ild imagine that wouldnt be an easy subject to paint

Here we go agin with the animals.......Chris go the nick name (Dr, Doolittle) on another site I think, lol

;D. LOL

Scott!

There was a diorama in a Magzine a "few years" back..... Where Germans were using a knocked out
T-34 as a spotting or snipping position.... In between the road wheels.... The ground underneath was blown off from an explosion. which gave them access fom one side.

What do you have for figures? Or what is your budget for figures?

And depending on the month, You want to depict! You might have to find some pretty heavily dressed Soldiers...From either side! Which is possible ! but not always easy to find!

We all heard Horror stories about Soldiers fom either side stealing Clothing from fallen soldiers just to keep warm.

LOL. Yeah, I've read all the 'pig' threads. LOL.

I don't plan to depict this as knocked out. All I have for figures are theses sets:

In hindsight, forget it. I just will finish the tank and place it on a bit of ground work. That will be enough. Next time I'll consider a figure.

I really just want to finish one.

I hear you Scott!! Focus on this girl!!! Can always add something down the road!! ;)

You could use the rockets and rack thing like it was left behind by some Germans

Yeah, I could spud. I just fear it will totally throw me off course.

Now that I know I'm into armor you can be sure I'll pick up a variety of figures at swap meets and shows and stuff...just to have something handy.

10AM, woke up a bit late...back in the loft now. !!!

Lol I just woke now its 2pm and I'm still in bed with my iPad :p

But back to the model, I would finish the tank first the play with the rocks and just have a look. Then again you may not need it one your base is finished

So I've been messing around with trees. Trying to model some evergreens using the furnace filter method commonly seen in Model Railroading.

What do you think? I'm not sure if the scale works...

SCOTT ,

Cool lookin trees & I agree with Spud - They are all different sizes, plus it seems that over th eions of time .. They would have re-planted th Trees & if th ones in Europe are any indication, when they re-planted they did so in Rows check out this pic from theWoods around Bastogne

Also I've seen some guys use Asparagus Fern to replicate th Evergreens. I think you could find it @ a local florist shop in th Dried flowers section or they should be albe to tell ya where to get it. It looks very convincing !!

http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/1160 Now some of th debate with this is b/c these Guys are trying to use it for small scale Trains, but I've seen it in action ( sorry I can't find pix) & it looks Great !!

Great reference and a really convincing product. I'm not so sure about mine....we'll see.

For the last couple of hours I've been adding some AK Interactive streaks and washes. Trying not to overdo it and just having fun learning how to use these awesome products.
