I just read that this build is 36" (almost 91.5cm) longThat ought to be a really fun build. Isn't that a fairly large build?
2 foot long (69± cm)?

that's H U G E!I just read that this build is 36" (almost 91.5cm) long
So my sprue stretching didn't work out. After several attempts I couldn't get the correct diameter for the rail. The sub will just be missing those two pieces.I'm going to try my hand at sprue stretching. I made a template in Play-doh of the rail. If this doesn't work I will try to make one from some polystyrene rods I have.

Sorry. I thought that would work.So my sprue stretching didn't work out. After several attempts I couldn't get the correct diameter for the rail. The sub will just be missing those two pieces.
It probably will. I just can't seem to get the proper technique to stretch it evenly and to the thickness I need.Sorry. I thought that would work.
I'm sure it would be too much trial and error anyway. It probably will. I just can't seem to get the proper technique to stretch it evenly and to the thickness I need.
Very cool!
Well I'm finally calling this one done. Great fun to build with you all, thanks for all the help and kind comments. PanthermanSo after alot of sanding and filling it's almost OK. Not entirely happy but I can live with it.
So I have added the guard rail post's and primed everything. Let that settle for a day then base coated the entire hull. Let that settle then masked up ready for top hull grey which I sprayed this morning.
Big reveal tonight and desperate to check if the lighting still works, it does. Photos attached.
Just a gloss coat, a few washes, decals, a nice black wire guard rail and any little touch in bit's then it's done. Pantherman

Thank you my friend. PMGreat job. The details are spot on and I love the lighting. Excellent work.
Wow.So I had to chop into the inner tube and remove a few pipes that wouldn't be seen to get the lighting in.
Put a small bulkhead in the diving planes area to seal off the light getting through. It's a bit messy so I'll clean that up.
Managed to get a fibre optic in the coning tower connected to the LED's at the rear. It's not great but it does give out a little light.
Now going to dry fit the front and if all goes well I can glue it all up tonight so tomorrow will be masking and priming hopefully. Pantherman

Wooooh, my head is starting to swell. Thanks brother for the kind comments. Might take this one to work and set on my desk. PanthermanSuper fantastical!
A very fine build, of course. It really shows the hours you worked on this kit. Every detail was meticulously executed.
That build is show worthy!
I was focusing on the 832 parts. That ought to be a really fun build. Isn't that a fairly large build?
2 foot long (69± cm)?
I have a 56" GATO class sub with PE I started last winter(I'm a winter builder) not sure if I can finish in time but maybe the front third, or mid section with conning tower. This is another possible group build, start date is to be determined. We might wait until after the new year.
Discussion is open to everyone.
My idea is a submarine build. It can be anything from an Iron Clad, WWI, WWII, Nuclear, etc.
It can be what ever you wish, as long as it's a sub.
We might even agree on one kit we just never know. But we do have a lot of fun!
