I thought I had my MF build posted here, but I can not seem to find the thread. If it is, my bad on the double post. I did want to share my some of the pictures of my attempt at painting my Falcon, in a custom color scheme.

After the initial build went the basic primer, paint and so forth, only problem was I was using a rattle can.

This is after the primer, base coat of Krylon White and the Emeral Green. As you can tell, the problems have begun. :)

The final product with Black and masks removed. needless to say I was not a happy camper with the final look.

After a long session of stripping with oven cleaner and Simple Green:

I had a number of pictures so I thought it would be fair to break up the posts so the initial pot is not too long.

The scratch built barrels since I did not like the turrets that came with the model originally. I swear when I made them they were glued on straight while setting.

Here it is primed again:

Some pre-shading which I could have made darker:

Had the chance to return to work on my freighter. Worked on it for abotu an hour, applied a couple of layers of Emerald Green. Major difference between using an airbrush versus the rattlecan. let me know what you think, thanks.

After a couple more layers of Emerald Green, then I will apply Gunmetal on the rear deck and some smaller areas.

I purposely built it that way. I also changed out the barrels with brass rod. So many different versions of the freighter, saw no reason why I should keep the mounts flush.

I thinks it's safe to say there's no right or wrong way to build one of these beasts. When I was researching my YT-1300 I came up with so many conflicting, contadictory, confounding and confusing references and opinions that I gave up on building it by-the-book.

Great work on this one... love the green colour.

Thanks all. Tried to work on it last night and the Law of Murphyt ook effect. Airbrush wasn't acting right. Once I put a new needle in and got it to work, I ran out of paint. :) So buying some more today then going to try to work on it tonight. ;D

Added some more to the green last night. I believe I have done as much as I can with the green. I do not want to layer it on too much and I think this particular color isn't going to get any darker with the base color being gray/white. (The flash from the camera probably doesn't help) So I will move on to the gunmetal colored portions and then I will see about dirtying it up so cover up my bad tape lines. :) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Had the chance to spray on the gunmetal... looks intersting. :p I have to pick up some more to touch up on some areas where the green is still showing underneath and to even up the coverage. and then I will take off the tape and masks. Lets see how it looks then. :)
