Honda!

Just catching up here. Really nice progress man, love the weathering on the engine. Watching this build really makes me want to attempt another car kit, I've never finished one I was happy with.

This is my first real car kit since the 70's. So it is a nice change of pace. Watching a lot of car modelers on YouTube has given me ideas.

Plus I gotta put my own twist to it. That will start showing up soon....

Twist? Cool John. You got me really hooked now! I love a twist!

John that engine looks great! God I'm so afraid to shoot the Alclad through the AB now that you have had issues. I would clean in with Lacquer Thinner first as best I can then a few cycles with the USC.

Over the last few years, I have noticed a tremendous influx of modelers on youtube, especially car builders. I think a lot of that is owed in part to Dr. Cranky. That guy is a car building machine.

Don't fear it, it wasn't the Alclad. Somehow a piece of paper towel got stuck deep in the AB. It was what was causing my problems. I tore the whole thing apart and found it by sticking some tiny brushes through the works.

Dr. Cranky sure has energized the car builders. I have to agree with you there Mr. Natural...

Thanks Java!

Nice update, but don't be too anal about the colors, if I may say so. I think you've done a bang-up job so far, but I'd also suggest using brushes some, you don't have to airbrush absolutely everything. Brushes are a valuable and essential tool.

But seeing your own personal car engine and your though process on it is a nice touch, and will lead you to accurate levels of realism I think =)

Have fun with the inlaws! :p

I figured that my own car engine would be the best reference I could find. So I used it. Like most of my builds, this is an experiment, to see if I can airbrush everything and I can mask parts that are very tiny. So far it is working well.

Looking really good so far my friend... glad you got the orange peel look fixed... I know that musta been driving ya nuts.

It was, but it is no more now. Just waiting for the paint to cure so that I can clear coat it and get on with the rest of it!

Great save on the hood John. Great painting on the other parts as well.
