thanks guys. I'm sanding seams along with Scotts Ratrod build right now.

Could you share with us how you managed that wood look ? It looks awesome.

Sure, I'll post some pictures when I wood grain the prop.

Thanks John. Working along with Scott, currently waiting for the prime to dry.

Got this and it went to the top of the build list. Could not have been happier to have received this. Already purchased the metal barrel and Bronco workable track link set. Gonna be awesome.

Thanks again to my new friend in Texas!!!

Great start Myke. :) The barrel and track set will be very cool. Looking forward to your next update.

Painting of the Hanriot continues.

Next up is the wood graining (I have not forgot Ravhin - I'll post some picture of how I do the wood grain) and masking for the next airframe colour.

Thanks fellas!

Got a little more done. Just preliminary building. Lots to clean up and fix still. I'm enjoying building this beast, AND the fact that I have time off to build!

Oops, snapped a rail. They are a little fragile.

Hopefully I'll complete all the building tonight.

Happy holidays everyone!

Great starts everyone!

JMac, I'm really digging that wood grain effect to. Incredibly realistic!

Myke, this tank is going to be a real beast. Nice work so far!

Now, let me join the ride as well.
To remind you, guys, I've got Ma.K. Gustav from my Secret Santa. This is my first Ma.K. kit, and I must admit, that it is absolutely perfect in all the aspects - molds quality, engineering, detail and all. I am absolutely sure, this is going to be far not the last Ma.K. project of mine.

On the project's plans: I've got an excellent idea for a romantic (surprise! ;D) diorama with those two mechs that I want to try to build to the Valentine's day to present my wife. So, it is possible to say that it is the destiny of this kit to bring happiness (I'm sure about me as I've received it, hope my wife would enjoy such a sign of attention from me standing along with my other build in the cabinet as well) :)

Ok, here is what I've done so far:

And that completes the work on the suit's insides. The models are extremely fast to build - it is like they are assembling themselves together. So it is not long till I'll turn to the dio, and I think there is really a chance that at this rate I will complete this proj. by February.

Ah, and for you, guys, not to be shocked about what kind of "romantic" dio can be built with two dudes in heavy mecha-suits - there is a woman involved ;)

Got these two kits of miniatures by ICM. Will take the walking ledi-oficer from the first one, as the nacist uniform is the closest to what the guys in the suits are wearing from what I can see. And the red-army girl is going to serve as a head-donor, as she is quite pretty and smiling, and fits the dio purpose much better then the strict german oficer.

Will keep You up in touch with the latest progress on this my proj., guys,
AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

Digging the Ma.K.

Love theme eh? That one fellas does have a rather amorous face. Keep rocking, the paint jobs look boss Sol.

Thanks guys! I'm just going to try putting one together pretty much OOB with no fuss...although I did add some decals from the spares, but now that I look at them, I don't think the yellow surrounds are accurate for the armor...was more of an aircraft thing which makes sense since that's where I got these from...and the one on the top bubble on the turret won't settle at all...grr....

Some great work on this page. Wow. From tanks to air to Ma.K. - really great work everyone.

Myke, Solander and Jeeves - Very cool builds. :)

I've been trying hard to get the Hanriot mostly done before I go back to work. Things had slowed down due to all the masking and painting I had to do. It was kind of funny, half a day, maybe a full day to build the major assemblies, then four days to paint what I have now. Good thing I like painting. ;D

Tomorrow I'll gloss coat and then if I have time I'll decal. Detail painting and rigging will follow that.

Under all that masking tape and frisket, lurks an airframe...

So glad that none of the paint lifted, I did have a little overspray and bleed under though. Dealt with both of those by touching up the paint by hand with a vary fine brush.

Thanks for taking a look.

Before I forget;

For Ravhin;

For the acrylics I used an old, wrecked brush. After blotting most of the paint off on to a paper towel, I gently drag the bristles along the length of the part.

For the oil method, I use a technique Ken Abrams originally posted. I like to use three or four colours of oil paints, that I more or less randomly mix. I apply the oil paints to the part with a torn piece of sponge. After using bits torn off of a sponge, I use a soft, flat brush to blend the applied oil paints.

Hope this helps.

Great stuff. Never thought of using a sponge with oils like that. I'll have to play around with that technique.

Thanks a lot :)
