There are soooo many parts in this thing. Just for reference, there are 6 pieces that make up each one of those seats. Then there is the blast door that has 10-15 pieces plus P.E. I figure I have 2-4 hours of building tonight, then primer tomorrow. T, I hope your ready to paint this thing!!! NO RUST!!! Well, maybe some streaks here and there. Let's just say I am looking forward to something simple to build next...
I wish!!! Good news is the wife has to work tomorrow. I have an oil change first thing in the morning, then I'm picking up a el'cheapo fan to knock up a quick spray booth. Then it's primer time! That's assuming I have energy to build once we get home from the URI basketball game.
As far as primers go, my favorites are Tamiya primer in a rattle can and Tamiya liquid primer and Mr. Surfacer through the airbrush. They aren't cheap, but they lay down great and don't obscure detail.
Most recently I have been using Vallejo Grey primer (on the fence a bit with it)...but am never apposed to using the occasional standard gray primer in a can (LOL..Rustoleum). If the can makes you squeamish, you can decant it into a bottle and the shoot through the AB after!! Been known to used Tamiya dark and light grays for a primer as well!! Smooth stuff there!!! Like the Tamiya the best!!
