Nice job on the rigging ShutterAce - looks really good. Now it'll be easy to touch up the wings and you're done! :)

Aren't bi-planes fun? Try some of the Roden kits - a little more difficult than the Eduards - but man, lots of subjects.

one suggestion for next time - don't drill completely through the top wing - less paint to touch up later.

Off to my club meeting.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Fumble, funny I've had a few comments on that prop. It was really easy and just happened. I painted it with PollyScale Deck Tan and Rust. First went on the Deck Tan, then some random streaking with Rust and then immediately lightly wash it with the tinted carrier from the Deck Tan bottle. Dip it in Future and your done. Quick, easy, and a total accident!

I'm not having much joy getting the control cables to the rear surfaces attached to the little control horns. I've tried CA and Gel CA, both with no success. It's a surface mount instead of gluing it into a hole. Do I need to try something else? Perhaps CA has no sheer strength. Is that my issue? ???

Once I get these 6 connections made and a tad bit of weathering on her I'm completely done. ;)

She looks excellent buddy , well done on that rigging its really not easy ...but you nailed it ,looks good :)

Chris.

OK, she's done for real now. ;D

1/48 Hasegawa F-4B
1/48 Hasegawa F4U-4
1/48 Tamiya Spit Mk.I
1/48 Otaki Spit Mk.VIII
1/48 Eduard Pfalz D.IIIa

I was given this kit by Mike Grant way over a year ago. I had her mostly assembled by the end of the year but shelved her to work on the VF-111 FB/Nats Project. Well she's finally complete. A lot of first for me here with a few warts but nothing that will keep me awake at night. I'm happy with the result and really enjoyed the build. Thanks Mike! ;D ;D ;D

Now off to the display shelf with you!

Great work Ace. You must feel well pleased. She looks beautiful. Now...what's next on the list to cross off?
cheers,

Great looking bird there! That decal across the spine looks like it would have been a bit tricky!

Well, I'm not sure. I actually forgot one on the list, :p the Revell Spirit of St. Louis. So, here's what I have:
  • 1/48 Hasegawa F4U-4 - In primer
  • 1/48 Revell Spirit of St. Louis - Needs prep and then primer and then...
  • 1/48 Tamiya Spit Mk.I - In primer
  • 1/48 Otaki Spit Mk.VIII - In primer
  • 1/48 Hasegawa F-4B - Needs top gull gray and small bits painted
  • 1/48 Eduard Pfalz D.IIIa

I also have a Tamiya 1/48 P-47 Razorback that I need to get done by Christmas. ::)

Blah, I'm tired just thinking about it. LOL :D :D :D

Thanks Myke. You know, I thought they were going to be a problem and they just slid right into place with no fuss. The decals in general were a bit of an issue because they are very thin and want to fold over on themselves but these went right where they were needed. ;D

Nice finish there Ace ,and a great looking bird ,especially at it was your first ....well done .

PS....1/48 Spit would be nice ;D
