Marder III Ausf.M

Thanks Scott ;)

Biskup ....very kind of you fella ,much appreciated :)

Onward and upward ;D

I decided no to go any further on the interior because ...well you just cant see any of it ! I'll maybe leave the next one all open ,but this one is going on a winter scene so she's buttoned up apart from the driver getting out .

Soooo.... The top decks were put in place ,along with the fighting comp floor . The fighting comp side walls were made up (they're only set in place here to check fit )
The Track guards were made up and painted on the underside before fitting .So we're starting to see a Marder .....I think ???

Hi ya Spud ,Im just using Tamiya Dark Yellow ,I havent bothered lightening it as there's a white wash to go over it ;)

Looks good, waiting on the paint now. 8)

Question, since I know little about these, do those louvers really open like that... 'up' if you will? Seems backwards considering how they would become a catch all for rain and such, just thought with all that Germany did, to create such engineering marvels those louvers would angle down, like a jalacy window.

Oh well, paint em if you got em. ;D

thanks chris, the vallejo dar yello i have seems like a greem yellow it wouldnt look right, i do have some XF-60 dark yellow at hand.

Looks awesome Chris! I was thinking it's kind of a shame to cover up that beautifull work on the interior. Like you say, maybe do another with open compartments...Maybe undergoing field repairs or something...

Thanks fella's :)

Ken ...I think the louvres are for letting heat away from the exhaust ,There is nothing else behind them and they're not lined up with intakes/vents from the engine comp .But as the exhuast comes through that side ,I'd guess thats what they're for . ???

Chris.

this aint a chat up line but i love your wheels..!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cant wait to see the rest of it painted

the weathering is rely top notch chris

Thanks fella ;D....Sorry but it'll have to wait till next week ,Im just getting ready to catch a plane to Euro ,and with that ....Im outta here ,catch ya all Monday ;D

Chris.

Damn good progress Chris. I can't wait to get back to my initial Marder III.
@ Ken, like Chris said there is nothing back there but the exhaust pipe. Air in/outlets are forward of the louvered area, open end on the underside. When you think about it, it really makes no sense to have a large area for the exhaust pipe outlet, and adding louvers ????? There must have been a reason for it or they would not have done it....waste of time and material otherwise.

Will have to wait for Chris to get back from the Euro mil show til the next update.

Hi chaps ;D

Well ,Im back home and back to the bench ,I need to get stuck into this over the next few weeks so I can get started on the GB's :)

I got the main gun assembled today ...just to get it done ::) There's no alloy barrel in this kit ,but the slide molded one is nice ,straight and no seams .
